Background
My name is Cassie Love.
I was born in Kitchener, Ontario on February 20th, 1980.
I grew up moving around a lot, changed schools often, and had a hard time making friends.
I consider myself a mutt (in the good way), some European and Walpole tribe, also known as the Three Fires. I have a sister who is one year older than me, and an adopted brother.
In 2005 I rode my bicycle across Canada (Victoria to Ottawa) then tried the rat race: settling down, by going to school and getting an office job, Graphic Design, which did not last long – depressed, bored, and totally restless. And then, doctor’s told me that I may have cancer and we will wait and see if it grows. This set me off in a completely different direction. Determined to heal myself and live, I quit my full-time, permanent job, wrote out my bucket list at age 26, and spent the next year doing everything I ever wanted to do before I die. I watched the movie The Secret, thought positive thoughts, and ate raw food. It was eye-opening how incredibly kind people are; it was magical how things fell into place with no real plan and just a backpack. I ended up in the Caribbean, USVI, Love city, also known as misfits island, St John. The place where I came out of my shell, thank you all for the friendships.
Least favourite quality: loving and kind until… working on it.
My last name is really Love, most people think it is made up: I decided to have a constant reminder.
I teach Essential Movements for a living. Most people have no idea what that is so I say I teach yoga, even though I have a gazillion times more education. I did yoga/gym workouts for decades, and my back pain and health got worse. THEN I broke bones in my spine in a yin yoga class, that is when I became disillusioned. Yoga was not healing my body.
With a Honours BA from the University of Ottawa and plans to become a counsellor, everything changed. I worked 3 jobs 7 days a week for two years to complete Katy Bowman’s Nutritious Movement™ Restorative Exercise Specialist certification. I needed to heal my body, and I needed to know what exercises exactly actually improve our health.
It turns out: yoga and most exercise programs are missing one key component: Essential Movements we need to counter the man-made artificial world. It is not popular for me to say that Yoga and gym workouts are man-made and do not address the elephant in the room: we are organic beings trying to live in an artificial world that is making us sick.
At 44 I feel WAY better than I did when I was 16 because EM works faster and better than any other exercise program. All that to say, I am passionate about trying to help people see the difference.
What I do for fun: play with dogs, be silly, and dance
What I like: freedom, privacy, kindness, generosity, nature, dogs, coffee (seriously, I get jealous if I see someone with coffee), sunsets, beaches, creativity, deep conversations, rebels, homemade healthy food, and compassionate, intelligent people.
Alright, this is me.
It’s great to get in touch with you
I am glad you are here.
