I’m Cassie Love. You might know me as a yoga teacher, but I do a lot more than just teach yoga, I also teach Essential Body Movements (EM). Topic for this month is: Cancer & EM.
In 2006 I had a Cancer scare and the doctors told me we will wait and see if it grows. I was terrified, and started feeling desperate to find a doctor that would see me right away to help. Unfortunately, I kept getting told to wait and see if it grows — what a horrible thing to experience. I did not know how to improve my health or reduce my risk, but I was determined to heal myself and live. I completely changed how I lived overnight. I do not know exactly what the answer was, but 8 months later there were no signs of cancer.
In addition to my Cancer scare, as a result of regularly exercising I suffered a spine injury. These two health problems motivated me to learn — I needed to know exactly what exercises actually improve our health. That’s why I juggled three jobs, seven days a week for two years—so I could save enough to study the science of disease and injury prevention through movement (exercise). It turns out most exercise programs are missing one key component: Essential Movements we need to counter the man-made artificial world (making us sick). These are powerful movements that work that I share with you.
Feeling old, experiencing body pain, and Cancer all have something in common: they thrive when your body isn’t getting enough oxygen. We can pull oxygen deeper into Essential areas of the body with specific Movements. Furthermore, these movements direct toxics out and allow the nervous system to do a better job. In other words, EM will restore your body to be younger and feel better.
Cancer is a terrible disease that affects many of us, whether through a loved one, a family member, or ourselves. It touches all our lives and can be incredibly difficult to cope with. Essential Movements (EM) can help lower your risk of diseases like cancer, heart disease, and diabetes because they tackle several causes of these diseases at once.
1. Reducing Fear: Cancer is scary and fear is detrimental to our health. It is known as the Fear Echo Chamber – when we are constantly waiting for tests and results, and are feeling helpless, the immune system suffers. Reduce fear by prioritizing regulating the nervous system: [Watch the video]
2. Take Sit Breaks: Try to stand up and move every hour. Studies show that sitting for more than an hour each day is linked to cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.
3. Dynamic Workspace: Set up your workspace so you can move around. This helps your body stay healthy by getting oxygen deeper into your body and cleaning out your lymphatic system. Try standing for a bit, sitting differently, and raising your arms above your head every day.
